Skeeters and Regions Bank Award Contributions, Host Bicycle Donations
September 21, 2021 - Pacific Coast League (PCL)
Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - The Sugar Land Skeeters and Regions Bank are donating a total of 12 Regions signature LifeGreen bicycles to benefit Houston-area nonprofits prior to the Skeeters' regular-season finale at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday at Constellation Field. Each nonprofit is receiving four bicycles in addition to $2,500 donations from the bank to support each organization's programs and services.
The bicycles will be donated to MECA, RaiseUp Families and Young Women's Preparatory Network, each of which Regions associates have supported through volunteerism. Regions Bank Houston Market Executive John Stacy will conduct a pregame ceremony, which will include a parade around the Constellation Field warning track, to present the donated bicycles to the respective nonprofits.
"A bicycle promotes a sense of independence and empowerment, the same qualities MECA, RaiseUp Families and the Young Women's Preparatory Network provide to the clients they serve," Stacy said. "Regions Bank is proud to support the impactful work these three nonprofits are doing to support our Houston neighbors, work that our associates are personally engaged with through volunteerism. We're pleased to present each organization with a grant and our bicycles as a way to demonstrate our commitment to being an active player in our community."
Tuesday's awards complement a longtime community partnership between the Skeeters and Regions Bank. Together, the organizations hosted a similar bicycle donation during the Skeeters' home opener on May 20.
"The Skeeters are incredibly proud to have a partner in Regions Bank, which places such a strong emphasis in supporting the Houston community," said Skeeters General Manager, Tyler Stamm. "We look forward to our continued partnership with Regions Bank and continuing to host events such as Tuesday's donations to local non-profits."
Tickets for the rest of the Skeeters' 2021 regular season - including the Triple A Final Stretch - are on sale and can be purchased by visiting sugarlandskeeters.com/tickets.
