SJ Sharks Recall Defenseman Dylan Demelo from Worcester Sharks

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Dylan DeMelo (@ddems2) from the Worcester Sharks (AHL).

DeMelo, 21, has registered 13 points (3-10=13) and 14 penalty minutes in 38 games this season with the Worcester Sharks. Last season with Worcester, DeMelo posted 24 points (2-22$) in 68 games, finishing first amongst all Worcester defensemen in points and assists.

In 120 career games with the Worcester Sharks, DeMelo has posted 42 points (5 goals, 37 assists) and 73 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario, was originally selected by the Sharks in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

In addition to DeMelo's recall, Sharks defenseman Justin Braun and forward Tommy Wingels were both placed on injured reserve, while defenseman Mirco Mueller was loaned to Worcester on a conditioning assignment.
