Six Honkers Make the Trip to Showcase

(Rochester, Minn.)- Six Rochester Honkers traveled to Madison Tuesday to take part in the NWL Major League Dreams Showcase. Joe DeRoche-Duffin (UCONN), Matt Fielder (Minnesota), Dempsey Grover (UC Santa Barbara), Cole Krzmarzick (Nevada), Scott Schreiber (Nebraska) and Jake Sparger (Louisville) were all part of the home team in the first game of the days' doubleheader, which they lost 10-0.

Fiedler had the busiest day, going 1-3 at the plate, as well as pitching the ninth inning where he registered two strikeouts while allowing no hits or walks.

Sparger pitched the sixth for the home team, allowing no runs, no hits and no walks.

Schreiber was the only other Honker to get a hit as he went 1-4 with a single in the seventh inning. Fiedler's single would follow immediately after in his last at bat of the day before his appearance on the mound.

The Honkers next home game will be on Wednesday, August 5th, against St. Cloud at 7:05 p.m. The last Fireworks Extravaganza of the season will follow, sponsored by ABC 6 News.
