Six Errors Send Sweets to Game Two Loss
August 9, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Walla Walla Sweets News Release
Walla Walla, Wa- The Sweets dropped the penultimate game of the year to the Falcons 13-7 on Saturday night. Walla Walla was plagued by six errors on the defensive side, but also gave up 17 hits in route to loss. The Falcons move to 32-19 on the season, while the Sweets drop to 22-30.
The Falcons jumped to an early lead with three unanswered runs in the first two innings. The Sweets then countered and took the lead with two in the second and two more in the third.
That set up the fourth inning for the Falcons. They scored seven runs on six hits and three Sweets' errors. That made it a huge reach for the Sweets' come back, but it was too much.
The Sweets have combined in the first two games to commit 10 errors and give up 11 unearned runs against the Falcons.
The two teams will play their final games of the regular season tomorrow at 7:05pm at Borleske. It will be firework night and Sweet Lou bobble head night as well, so come out to the ballpark for the last game of the 2015 season.
