(Windsor, ON) Second-year forward William Sirman has been traded to Ottawa.

The Spits are also sending their 14th round pick in 2020 to the 67s, while getting back Ottawa's 14th round pick in 2020 and Ottawa's 15th round pick in 2021 (conditional) in the deal.

"It's tough to let a guy like Will go," GM Warren Rychel noted. "He's been great for us in the room and the community and he's a really likeable kid. But we've got a deep group of forwards right now. We have to get our numbers down. We'd like to thank Will for everything he did."

Originally chosen in the 14th round (#263 overall) in the 2015 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, Sirman played in 66 regular season games last season, scoring six times and adding 13 assists to go along with 20 penalty minutes, before adding a pair of goals in our six-game, first-round playoff loss to the Sarnia Sting.

PATTON ADDED

In other news, goaltender Lucas Patton has been recalled from the Kitchener Dutchmen of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL).

Patton, 19, appeared in six games for the Spitfires last season, posting a 2-2-1 record, along with a 3.24 goals against and an .894 save percentage.

He will suit up for our home-and-home exhibition set with Sarnia this Thursday and Friday, in place of Mikey DiPietro, who is attending training camp with the Vancouver Canucks.
