
Sioux City Musketeers Announce Captains for the 2019-20 Season

SIOUX CITY, IOWA - Head Coach Luke Strand has announced the captains for the 2019-20 season following a win against the Omaha Lancers on the home opener.
Captain - Ian Malcolmson
Assistant Captain - Dominic Vidoli
Assistant Captain at Home - Anthony Kehrer
Assistant Captain on Road - Adam Samuelsson
Luke Strand states "Captaincy is a huge honor and responsibility. We feel we have a great group of leaders to withstand the rigors that the USHL delivers. Ian, Dominic, Anthony and Adam provide us with the backbone of qualities to lead our team. Our leadership group will be larger than the "C" and the "A's" to provide support to our team everyday and grow our group for a special season."
Malcolmson, native of Waukesha, WI, committed to Northern Michigan and the lone forward returning from last season helped guide the Musketeers to a 30-25-7 record. He played in all 62 regular season games and scored 9 goals and had 12 assists. Continuing as a 2 way forward he's played in all 3 regular season games and had 1 assist. Malcolmson states regarding becoming captain for this year, "It's a huge honor and something very special to me. At the same time it's not something that is going to change the way I come to the rink every day. Myself, Sammy, Vids and Anthony are in this together and are excited for the year in Sioux City. A Clark Cup is our goal."
Vidoli, native of Raleigh, NC, committed to Ohio State returns as 1 of 5 defensemen. Vidoli made a great start in the 18-19 season with a game winning overtime goal on the traditional New Year's Eve game and has been very strong offensively against the opponents. In 18-19 Vidoli played in 18 games and had 2 goals and 13 assists and is continuing that success into this season playing 2 games and scored 1 goal and has 3 assists. Vidoli states, "I am honored to be recognized as one of the assistant captains on this team. The Sioux City Musketeers is such a storied organization with great lineage of captains, and to be able to join that group is something in which I take a lot of pride."
Kehrer, native of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, committed to Wisconsin also a returner from last season. Kehrer, tender of the 18-19 season played in 58 games and had 1 goal and 10 assists. When paired with fellow D Vidoli he becomes a strength in offense in pushing the pucks to the offensive zone. Kehrer has played in all 3 regular season games for this current season. Kehrer states, I am very proud and honored to be named the assistant captain of the Sioux City Musketeers. I, along with the other captains, look forward to this season where we know we have a great group of players on this team."
Samuelsson, native of San Diego, CA is currently uncommitted but has multiple schools looking at him. Samuelsson also returns from the 18-19 season and played in 33 games and had 1 goal and 8 assists. Samuelsson is very strong and physical and is a huge asset to the team in helping clear the zone and keeping the opponents away from the goaltender. Samuelsson states, "It's an honor to be named an alternate captain for the Sioux City Musketeers. I am looking forward to leading the way by leading by example and showing the team how to get it done."
