Memphis Xplorers News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS- The Memphis Xplorers of af2 announced today that single-game tickets for all eight home dates for the 2004 season at the DeSoto Civic Center will go on sale on Monday, March 29th.
With some tickets selling for as little as $5 a seat, the 2004 Memphis Xplorers offer one of the best entertainment values in the entire Mid-South.
End Zone seats in the upper bowl will be offered for the low price of $5 a ticket, an excellent value considering the plentiful sight lines of the DeSoto Civic Center. All other upper bowl seats are available for only $10 a ticket. End Zone seats in the lower bowl also can be purchased for only $10.
All lower bowl corner seats sell for $12 a ticket, and center-section lower bowl seats are available for $15.
The âGridiron' seating section, always one of the most popular seating areas due to its in-your-lap proximity to the field, will be sold for $20 a ticket.
The Xplorers home campaign commences on Saturday, April 17, as they take on the Florida Firecats. The eight game home schedule concludes on July 24 against the Macon Knights. Other key Xplorers contests at the DCC include games against local rivals Arkansas and Bossier City, as well as a rematch with af2 powerhouse Tennessee Valley.
Also on sale are all Xplorers season ticket packages. Ranging in cost from only $40 for the upper bowl end zone to $140 for the Gridiron section, most season ticket plans offer a special discount, where purchasers get eight games for the price of seven.
For ticket information, contact the Xplorers office at (662) 342-1755. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the DeSoto Civic Center box office at (662) 470-2131, or by calling or visiting any local TicketMaster outlet.
All Xplorers practices and scrimmages are open to both the public and the media. The team's practice schedule has consisted of two-a-days, with a morning session at 9:30 AM and an evening session at 5:30 PM. For more information, contact media relations director Galen Clavio at 662-342-1755.
All sixteen regular season Xplorers football games will be heard throughout the Mid-South on SportsPlus 790 WMC. In addition, all games will be broadcast on X-Cast, a special in-house radio broadcast designed specifically for the DeSoto Civic Center. X-Cast airs on 107.9 FM, and can be received while in the DeSoto Civic Center by using a walkman or other personal radio.
The first regular-season game broadcast for the Xplorers will take place on Saturday, April 10th at 6:45 pm, as Memphis starts the season on the road while taking on the Birmingham Steeldogs.
