Firecats Announce New OL/DL Coach

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats are pleased to announce that Jimmy Magas has been promoted to offensive/ defensive line coach.

"I am very excited about this opportunity," Magas said in regards to his new position. "I expect high standards, not only from me, but from the players surrounding me. The ultimate goal for this team is win a championship."

Magas enters the season as the OL/DL coach after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach for the Firecats. Before beginning his professional coaching career, Magas coached the Fort Myers (Florida) High School football team for eight seasons. He was also the offensive coordinator for the semi-professional Dothan Chiefs for two years in Dothan, Alabama. Magas currently works with the Lee County (Florida) Sheriff's Department, and he has served as the head coach of the sheriff's football team for the past six years.

Magas graduated from Mariner High School in Cape Coral, Florida. He also received his Bachelor's Degree from International College, and he plans to start work on a Master of Sports Management degree in this spring. In his free time, Magas loves to spend time with wife, Valerie, and his six-year-old son, Zachary.
