Florida Firecats News Release
Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats have added the one piece that was missing from their puzzle when they were reassigned Cainon Lamb today, their number one receiver from last year.
"I am happy to be back with the team to give it one more try," Lamb said in regards to rejoining the Firecats.
The addition of Lamb comes after the Firecats were reassigned quarterback Ken Mastrole. Lamb rejoins the receiver corps with returning teammates Magic Benten and Brent Burnside, in addition to some new faces such as Antwon Robinson, Chris Davis, Justin Clark, Walker Booth, Fuminori Sato, and the number two man in Macon last year, Anthony Snead.
"I am thrilled to have Cainon back," General Manager Chris Vallozzi said. "He led our team in many categories last year, and he is one of the best receivers in AF2. He is a key piece of the puzzle to get us back to the ArenaCup."
Lamb led the Firecats last year in virtually every offensive category in 2003. Lamb had 110 receptions for 1,297 yards (11.8/reception, 81.1 yards/game), and 32 touchdowns. He also had 21 kick returns for 378 yards for a total of 1,710 yards for the season (106.9 yards/game). Lamb also had two interceptions and a fumble recovery on defense.
Lamb graduated from Florida A&M University with 186 receptions for 2,655 yards for his career. He received All-America honors his senior season.
