Sims Announces Retirement From Colorado Mammoth
December 8, 2008 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release
Denver - Josh Sims, one of the last members playing from the Colorado Mammoth's inaugural season in Denver, has announced his retirement.
The National Lacrosse League All-Star has played his entire NLL career with the franchise including two seasons with the Washington Power before the team moved to Colorado. In 109 regular season games with the franchise, Sims scored 189 points (86 goals, 103 assists) and tallied another 22 playoff points (14 g, 8 a).
"Josh has been one of this team's steady go-to guys and we'll miss his presence both on and off the field," Colorado Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "It's rare to have a man spend his entire career with one franchise and we're proud to have had Josh with us since the beginning."
The Princeton graduate is a native of Annapolis, MD and currently lives in Boulder.
Sims's retirement leaves John Gallant as the only original team member of the Mammoth's inaugural season.
