Allen, TX - Forwards Wayne Simpson (one goal, two assists) and Andrew Rowe (two goals, one assist) each recorded three points to propel the South Carolina Stingrays (14-9) over the Allen Americans (13-8) 4-1 in Game 3 of the Kelly Cup Finals at the Allen Event Center Wednesday evening. With the points, Simpson now has 36 (12 goals, 24 assists) in the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs, a new ECHL single-season playoff record. The Stingrays lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Stingrays defenseman Michal Cajkovsky broke the scoreless tie nearly halfway through the second period slipping a shot from the right-wing circle through a screen and past Americans netminder Riley Gill (L, 24 saves on 27 shots) at 9:02. Simpson and Rowe earned assists.

Rowe made it 2-0 early in the third period lifting the puck just over the goal line for his ECHL-leading 13th goal of the postseason with help from Simpson and forward Rob Bellamy at 5:16. The Americans responded just over two minutes later as forward Chris Crane slipped a rebound over the pads of Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis (W, 39 saves on 40 shots) at 7:33. With the Americans pressuring, Cajkovsky gloved a dump-in attempt and found Rowe for a breakaway maker at 16:50 to reclaim a two-goal cushion. Simpson sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 18:07 from forward Derek DeBlois. Both teams finished the game 0-for-4 on the power play.
