
Simon to DL; Stolzenburg activated

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have placed first baseman Randall Simon on the diasabled list, retroactive to June 23. To fill the vacant roster spot, the RiverHawks have activated pitcher Greg Stolzenburg.
Simon left the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader in the fifth inning after he stole second base. He suffered a strained quadriceps muscle. Simon is hitting .250 with seven home runs and 19 RBI. In his last 10 games, Simon hit .361 and five home runs.
Stolzenburg made one relief appearance with the RiverHawks before being placed on the DL June 18. He allowed three runs on four hits in one inning June 16 at Schaumburg.
The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 18th season this summer.
