Silvertips Win Thriller in Overtime, 4-3

Everett, WA - Down 3-1 in the third period, Everett climbed back to defeat the Spokane Chiefs 4-3 in overtime Wednesday night. Tyler Maxwell collected the overtime winner at 2:02 of the extra frame to give the Everett forward 16 goals on the season. Tying Maxwell for a share of the team leader in goals is Shane Harper. Harper put up a three point night, including two goals to bring him to 16 as well on the season. Kent Simpson stopped 34 of 37 to collect his sixth win this season. Chris Langkow picked up the night's second star with one goal, one assist.

Spokane collected a power play goal at 13:05 to kick off the scoring after a fast paced start Wednesday night. Tyler Johnson netted his 13th of the year lining up a slap shot that deflected off an Everett stick in front, off the post and past Kent Simpson for a Chiefs 1-0 lead.

Everett came out quick in the second period scoring the tying goal just 21 seconds into the frame. Harper put up his 15th goal of the season after a Ryan Murray blocked shot ended up on Harper's stick in the slot. A quick wrist shot beat James Reid glove side making the score 1-1. The Chiefs regained the lead at 8:37 after a Simpson save was being cleared out of the slot by Chris Langkow, Steve Kuhn swatted at the puck that found the back of the net for a 2-1 Spokane lead.

Spokane converted their second power play goal of the night at 4:16. Stefan Ulmer's fourth goal of the year came from a slap shot from the point giving the Chiefs a 3-1 lead. Everett didn't sit back for long scoring two goals in less than a minute. Langkow added Everett's second of the night at 6:19 delaying in front of the crease beating Ried top-shelf, glove side. Harper followed suit at 7:05, sprinting down the right side into the zone and 1beating Reid with a hard wrist shot to tie the game up 3-3. After 60 minutes of play the game was tied sending both teams into overtime.

Tyler Maxwell put home the game winner at 2:02 in overtime, collecting a rebound in front of the crease Maxwell's 16th of the year gave Everett the 4-3 win.

This brings the 'Tips record to 14-7-1-0 with 29 points in 22 games played. Everett gets the day off for Thanksgiving before heading back to the ice this Friday for their first meeting in two seasons at Comcast Arena against the Regina Pats.
