Silverbacks Announce Three-Point Shooting Frenzy

October 27, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Buffalo, NY - Sims, Sansom, Sean. Say that five times fast. The Buffalo Silverbacks have recently signed three players that will be as entertaining as they are talented. Antoine Sims, Dameon Sansom and Sean Murphy will shake the walls of the Buffalo State Sports Arena forcing the Silverbacks to live up to their "Do Your Best, Never Quit" reputation.

Antoine Sims, the fact that he scored 52 points in a single game last year, 12 of which were 3-pointers, and that he was ranked number 4 in the nation for scoring and 3-pointers in the 2001-2002 CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) will make him a stand out. Sims' speed and determination will be an asset to the team.

Dameon Sansom, a 6'1" guard, with his quick feet and unrelenting ability to be positive on and off the court. Sansom can set up a team to get buried from outside with his shooting and generate involvement of the whole team with his electrifying vision on the court. Sansom put his Texas school on the map by earning the title of conference tournament MVP and becoming the first player in Texas State San Marcos history to be part of two championship teams.

Sean Murphy is a Silverback through and through. Originally from Williamsville, N.Y., Murphy was honored with being ranked first for 3-pointers in RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) history with 223 long balls and seventh in all-time scoring. Beyond being number one in his specialty, Murphy was also recognized as a First Team ESPN Academic All American and was named to the First Team Empire 8 squad in this senior season.

The trifecta of talent that the Silverbacks acquired will help the team to achieve all their goals in the 2006-2007 season.
