Rodriguez would finish the game going 4-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Next, 3B Carlos Madrid hit an RBI double. The Scorpions, however, wouldn't go quitely and tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the seventh inning, scoring five runs of their own. Not to be outdone, the Silver Sox would then add three more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Again, the Silver Sox took advantage of Scorpion errors to get their runs in.

Silver Sox reliever Mike Peck pitched a great eighth inning, but lost his groove going into the ninth and was unable to record an out, but allowed two runs as the Scorpions tried to mount a comeback.
