Silver Knights Prepare for Big Weekend in MASL

SYRACUSE, New York - Tommy Tanner knows this is a big weekend for his Silver Knights as the Silver Knights face two Eastern Conference teams. On Friday night the Silver Knights will play home to the Harrisburg Heat (0-8) before traveling to face the Detroit Waza Flo (6-5) on Sunday, January 10th.
"This is a crucial weekend for us moving forward with the rest of the season. We are hitting out midway point and the team is starting to really gel and we are ready to make our push forward for the rest of the season." Said Tommy Thursday morning. "It all starts Friday night for us, we really hope to get the fans behind us help the team to get the weekend started off on the right foot."
On Friday, January 8th the Harrisburg Heat will come to the Onondaga War Memorial looking for their first win on the season. In their only previous matchup the Silver Knights spoiled the Heat's holiday bash by picking up a win December 26th. That game was a highlight reel for JJ Gibson as the Silver Knight forward notched 4 goals in the game with Antonio Manfut chipping in two goals in the victory. During the matchup the Silver Knights controlled the game from the opening whistle and raced out to a 6-1 lead in just 20 minutes of play.
This Friday's game will also be a home coming for former Silver Knight Defender Marcos Chantel. Chantel was a long time Silver Knight player before returning home to play for the Harrisburg Heat this season.
Following Friday's game the Silver Knights will travel to Detroit to take on the 2nd team place team in the East on Sunday January 10th. This season, the Waza Flo and the Silver Knights have split the season series with each side taking a win in their home arena. The Silver Knights were able to defend their home turf on opening night in late November, while the Waza Flo were able to take revenge on December 6th with an 8-4 win.
