Fury Washed Away by the Wave, 10-4
January 7, 2016 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Ontario Fury News Release
The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, were unable to take advantage of a Milwaukee Wave team playing its second game in as many days as the Wave outscored the Fury 7-2 in the second half enroute to a 10-4 win at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
The Major Arena Soccer League's leading goal scorer Ian Bennett scored three times as did teammate Marcio Leite, as the Fury, returning to action after two and a half weeks off, could not build up attacks against the visitors from the Central Division.
Ontario opened the scoring early on as Israel Sesay scored the first of his two goals on the night as he pushed home a rebound of a shot by Stephen Basso to give the Fury a 1-0 lead it would hold for the first quarter.
But Milwaukee answered early in the second as Leite put home a loose ball past goalkeeper Sanaldo to tie it at 1. Ontario took the lead back on a set play 1:20 later, as Mauricio Salles fed defender Basso on the right side and he blasted a shot past Nick Vorberg to give Ontario its final lead of the game.
Milwaukee took a 3-2 lead into half, and widened the lead without touching the ball, as Josh Ayers' pass back to Sanaldo skipped by the goaltender and into the Fury's net.
Kiley Couch scored the other Ontario goal.
The Fury will take off next week on a four-game road trip that will include stops in Dallas, Chicago, Turlock and Sacramento before returning to Citizens Business Bank Arena on Friday, Jan. 29 for a 7 p.m. game against the Sacramento Surge.
Tickets for the Jan. 29 game, and all Fury games, are available at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office and online at AXS.com. The Jan. 29 game will also be Scout Night, with special promotions for all Boy and Girl Scouts in attendance. The Fury will also be hosting a Teddy Bear Toss that night, with fans encouraged to bring in stuffed animals to be thrown on the field after the Fury scores its first goal.
