Silver Knights Land Two on MASL Team of the Week

SYRACUSE, New York - The Syracuse Silver Knights (10-7, Eastern Division #2) were able to land two players, defensemen Nelson Santana and Bo Jelovac, on the MASL Team of The Week for their contributions in a 2-0 weekend for the Silver Knights.
The Silver Knights used a 2-0 weekend by taking down Central Division powers the Chicago Mustangs, and the Milwaukee Wave to solidify their playoff spot and prove they are ready to contend in the 2015 MASL Playoffs.
Since starting the season off at 2-5, the Silver Knights have been on a roll winning 8 of their last 10 matches. The Silver Knights will finish up their regular season with three home matches starting tomorrow February 19th when the Knights will take on the Chicago Mustangs. The Silver Knights will wrap up the regular season with games against the Rochester Lancers and Detroit Waza Flo on February 22nd, and March 1st respectively.
Leading the charge for the Silver Knights will be first time MASL Team of the Week honorees Bo Jelovac and Nelson Santana. Bo Jelovac scored 3 goals and had 1 assist in the two weekend road games. Nelson Santana chipped in on the goal scoring by adding 3 goals and 1 assist himself in the two Silver Knight victories.
Nelson Santana ' s hit a high point in Chicago on Saturday night. Just 38 seconds into the overtime period, Santana found himself with a free kick at the top of the arc and a perfect opportunity to end the match. Nelson ' s kick bent over the wall and perfectly into the top corner of the goal for the game winner.
Santana and Jelovac will join goal keeper William Vanzela (Baltimore), Midfielder Ivan Simental (Las Vegas), and Forwards Lucas Totti (Oxford City), and Erick Tovar (Monterrey) on the Team of the Week. To see the whole Team of the Week Roster and weekly updates visit maslsoccer.com.
