Silver Knights 2014-2015 Schedule Released
September 9, 2014 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Syracuse Silver Knights News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After the franchise's most successful season, the Syracuse Silver Knights learned its 2014-15 Major Arena Soccer League schedule on Tuesday. The Silver Knights will begin its 20-game slate with MISL-rival Baltimore Blast on Saturday, November 8, before opening the Oncenter War Memorial Arena against the Ontario Fury (Calif.) on Friday, November 21.
"I expect that we'll have a great season with a lot of great matches and styles," MASL Commissioner Kevin Milliken said. "With the added teams in the Great Lakes and East Coast, you'll see a more direct style, while others are going to attack by committee."
"It's the difference between the Lakers and Celtics. You'll see the structure of Boston and the show time of LA in this league," Milliken explained.
The Thruway Rivalry is a six leg series this season. The first meeting is December 13 in the Salt City with a return trip at the Blue Cross Arena a week later on December 20.
"We kept in mind the Silver Knights' geographic rivalry with Rochester and Baltimore, but now we wouldn't mind seeing the Harrisburg Heat as a rival," the Commissioner said. "I'm excited about sending Ontario to Syracuse. It's a long trip but managed to fit in their schedule. Ontario is a well coached team that will make it an entertaining game to watch."
Syracuse plays the defending PASL-Champion Chicago Mustangs late in the season. The Silver Knights travel to Illinois on February 15 in Syracuse's second game of a back-to-back. The Orange, Silver, and Black begin the Central Division trip against the Milwaukee Wave on Valentine's Day, February 14.
The Oncenter War Memorial's longest home stand concludes the season. The three-game set starts with the Mustangs on February 19. The Silver Knights complete their fifth game of the Thruway Rivalry February 22 and finish the season against the Detroit Waza Flo on March 1.
Season and single-game tickets can be purchased in person at the Silver Knights office, located at 7201 Jones Rd, Syracuse NY 13209. They can also be purchased during the season over the phone at 315-303-7261 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. from Monday through Saturday during the regular season.
