Sidewinders Win Suspended Game

Colorado Springs, CO - Donnie Kelly went 5 for 5 with two RBI, Justin Upton homered and drove in four and Jamie D'Antona clubbed a two run home run as the Sidewinders beat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 15-8 in the completion of a game suspended by rain on August 14th.

The two teams resumed play with the Sidewinders leading the Sky Sox 5-3 in the top of the fourth inning. Trent Oeltjen reached on an infield single and two outs later D'Antona homered to center field to give the Sidewinders a 7-3 edge.

Colorado Springs closed to within 7-4 with a run in the fifth but the Sidewinders came back with two in the sixth on Upton's third home run of the season. Tim Raines, Jr., Trent Oeltjen and Josh Whitesell had RBI singles in the seventh and Kelly and Raines added RBI hits in the eighth. Kelly's RBI single in the ninth capped Tucson's scoring.

Dustin Glant worked three innings for his third win of the season. Glant (3-3) gave up a run and a hit and struck out two.

The two teams will play a seven inning game coming up shortly. A recap will follow.
