LAST GAME: Doug Mathis suffered his first loss of the year in Oklahoma's 7-1 loss at Round Rock. Mathis gave up six runs in the second inning and surrendered three home runs. Yordany Ramirez, Edwin Maysonet, and J.R. House all hit two out, second inning home runs to build the Express lead and knock Mathis from the game. The RedHawks lone run came in the fourth when Taylor Teagarden scored on a single by Casey Benjamin.
ERA GOES DOWN: Six of the seven runs scored last night were unearned and Oklahoma actually lowered it team earned run average in the loss. All six runs charged to Doug Mathis in the second inning were unearned due to an error by Ryan Roberts. Steve Rowe allowed one earned run during his four plus innings of relief work, while Yukinaga Maeda pitched an inning and two thirds of shutout ball. The RedHawks staff ERA dropped from 4.48 to 4.46, now the third lowest earned run average in the PCL behind only Sacramento (4.25) and Memphis (4.34).
BACK FROM THE DL:
Michael Ballard will make his seventh Triple-A start tonight for Oklahoma. Ballard spent the last week on the RedHawks disabled list with an ... Before getting activated yesterday The 24- year old has not fared well away from home this season with Oklahoma, going 0-2 with an earned run average of 27.00 on the road, while holding a 2-1 mark at home and an ERA of 4.70. Ballard was placed on the disabled list two days after his last start, a win over Omaha on August 16.
RUNS IN THE FAMILY:
The Texas Rangers Minor League affiliates have collectively won more games (437) than any other farm system except the New York Yankees (462). Six of the eight teams in the Rangers organization will have winning records at the end of the season. The Rangers Minor League winning percentage is currently .548, fifth best overall, behind only the Yankees (.579), Giants (.571), Red Sox (.554), and Angels (.553).
ELLISON RETURNS:
Jason Ellison was outrighted to the RedHawks roster earlier today and will rejoin the club tonight. Ellison had his contract purchased by Texas on August 7 and hit .231 over nine games with the Rangers.
AMERICAN SOUTH CHAMPIONS:
The RedHawks clinched the American South division title on August 23. Oklahoma has been in or tied for first since April 7, spanning 141 days, and was the first club to clinch its division in the Pacific Coast League this season. This title is the fifth in RedHawks history (1999, 2002, 2004, & 2005) and the tenth in Oklahoma City Triple-A history (including seven in the PCL and three in the American Association).
ROUND ROCK AT A GLANCE:
Yordany Ramirez has hit safely in ten of his last 12 games, and also has 17 outfield assists, second most in the PCL behind Jason Repko's 18... Josh Muecke is 0-2 against Oklahoma this season with a 5.40 ERA, having allowed 11 runs over 11.2 innings on 11 hits and 10 walks.

Only Tacoma (122) and Portland (121) has committed more errors than Oklahoma (120)... Yukinaga Maeda has not allowed a run over his last ten innings, and has surrendered just one over his last 15.
