Sidewinders Swept In Sacramento

April 19, 2008 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Sidewinders News Release

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento Rivercats snapped a 2-2 tie with three runs on just one hit in the sixth inning and went on to a 6-3 win over the Sidewinders on Friday night. The loss caps a 1-7 road trip for Tucson and drops their record to 2-14.

Tucson's offensive and bullpen woes continued as the Sidewinders posted just five hits and saw three relievers allow four runs in two and two-thirds innings. The Sidewinders totaled just 20 hits in the four game series and the bullpen allowed eight runs over the last two games.

Jon Coutlangus was charged with his second loss in as many decisions as he allowed three runs in an inning of relief work. Coutlangus walked two, hit a batter and threw a wild pitch. Dustin Glant gave up one run on four hits in his inning and a third on the hill.

The Sidewinders return home on Saturday night to open a four game series with the Fresno Grizzlies. Right-hander Billy Buckner starts for Tucson against righty Matt Palmer for Fresno. First pitch is at 6:30. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 6:20.
