Tucson Sidewinders News Release

Round Rock, TX - The Round Rock Express scored two runs on just two hits and were aided by three Tucson errors as they snapped the Sidewinders three game winning streak with a 2-1 win on Tuesday night at the Dell Diamond.

Donnie Kelly, Billy Buckner and Jamie D'Antona all committed errors in the fifth inning as the Express pushed across the first run of the game. Edwin Maysonet's sacrifice fly in the seventh followed a double and back to back walks to give Round Rock a 2-0 edge.

Buckner suffered the loss despite pitching into the seventh inning and giving up a mere two hits. The Sidewinders right-hander walked three and struck out three but suffered his third loss of the season.

Tucson had plenty of chances but could not get the key hit they needed. The Sidewinders stranded 12 men in the game including Tim Raines, Jr. at third in the ninth. Raines' one out triple plated Emilio Bonifacio to get the Sidewinders on the board but Alex Romero grounded out to second and Josh Whitesell struck out to end the game.

The Sidewinders and Express will play game three of their series on Wednesday night at the Dell Diamond. Right-hander Juan Gutierrez (0-4, 4.73) starts for Tucson against left-hander Josh Muecke (1-2, 3.67) for Round Rock. First pitch is at 5:05 Tucson time. The game will air LIVE on COOL 1450 beginning at 4:55.
