
Sidewinders Comeback Falls Short

Oklahoma scored seven unanswered runs Thursday night and withstood a Tucson comeback attempt to post a 7-5 win Thursday night at SBC Bricktown Ballpark.
Tucson scored first in the second inning before Oklahoma scored three runs in the third, run in the fourth and three more in the sixth to chase starter Paul Abbott (1-2).
The Sidewinders scored two runs in the seventh on a Luis Terrero ground out and a Danny Ramirez single. Tucson plated two more runs in the eighth to close within 7-5. A walk to Luis Terrero loaded the bases before Reynaldo Garcia struck out Danny Ramirez to end the threat.
Garcia threw a perfect ninth to collect his first save and make a winner out of C.J. Nitkowski.
Mike Bell collected two doubles for the Sidewinders to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. Chad Tracy went 1-5 to push his hit streak to 11 games. Jhonny Carvajal led the club with a 3-4 night.
The Sidewinders fell to 33-39. Tucson and Oklahoma will meet in the finale of the four-game series Friday night. Mike Gosling (4-7 6.53) will start for Tucson against Ryan Drese (2-2 5.79). THE GAME WILL BE TAPE DELAYED ON AM 990 KTKT AT 6:00 P.M.
