Express make more roster moves
June 19, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release
Pitcher Nick Roberts, who won 12 games with Round Rock in 2002, has been promoted back to the Express from Class A Salem. Roberts was slated to start the year at Triple-A New Orleans, but a trip to the disabled list has limited him to three starts with the Avalanche.
He was 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in those starts, but went 12-7 with a 4.34 ERA and was second in the Texas League in innings pitched with 172.
To make room for Roberts, pitcher James Lira was released. Third baseman Ramon German was also released. His roster spot is expected to be filled soon.
This makes the fourth addition to the Express in the last week. Previously, outfielder Jacques Landry and pitcher Santiago Ramirez joined Round Rock.
