
Sidekicks Sign FA Forward Anthony Powell

(ALLEN, TEXAS) The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of free agent forward Anthony Powell to an agreement for the 2020-21 Major Arena Soccer League season. As per team and league policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Powell has played arena soccer for the Dallas Sidekicks and Mesquite Outlaws while playing outdoor soccer locally for both the Fort Worth Vaqueros and Fort Worth Inocentes FC, as well as internationally for teams in Iceland and Sweden. His career highlights include averaging a goal a game while playing in Sweden for Saffle FF and scoring on his professional debut in Iceland. Powell was also honored to be named to the US Futsal camp roster this past year.
As a rookie for the Sidekicks in the 2018/2019 season, the forward played in ten games notching five goals to go along with a couple of assists. In his second MASL season, Powell doubled his tally with ten goals in 18 appearances to go along with six assists. He is excited to return to the team where he got his start and scored his first goal on December 19, 2018 on the road against the Ontario Fury for the boys in green.
"Ready to make my mark," Powell said upon signing his Sidekicks contract.
Powell, who is a very skilled and strong player on the ball, played high school soccer at Fossil Ridge High School in Keller, Texas where he was offensive player of the year in 2014. He stayed in Texas for college and played at Hill College in Cleburne, Texas. Powell's other interests include playing basketball and video games.
