Aberdeen Wings News Release
Robertson Cup Semi-Final #2, Game 2: Amarillo Bulls 2 vs. Aberdeen Wings 3 (OT) (Series tied, 1-1) - Aberdeen Wings forward Nic Sicoly scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime as the Wings forced a 3rd and deciding game in their Robertson Cup Semi-Final series against the Amarillo Bulls thanks to a 3-2 win on Saturday night. It was a rough start for the Wings in the 1st period as the Bulls looked like they were on their way to the Robertson Cup title game, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame thanks to goals from Logan Jenuwine and Brenden Datema. However, the Wings totally turned the tables in the 2nd period, outshooting the Bulls 14-4 and tying the game at 2-2 thanks to late goals from Tim Makowski and Nic Sicoly. In the 3rd period, both teams had their chances, especially the Wings who fired 18 shots on goal in the period, but were unable to crack Bulls goalie Justin Evenson. The Wings carried the momentum into overtime and some nice work down below the goal line led to a pass out front to Sicoly, who was left all alone to put one past Evenson for the game-winner. Game 3 of the Robertson Cup Semi-Final will be on Sunday, May 12 at 6pm with the winner advancing to the Robertson Cup National Championship Game on Tuesday. Boxscore
