Bulls Head to Game Three

BLAINE, MN - For the fifth time in the post season, the Amarillo Bulls are facing an elimination game.

The Bulls will face the Aberdeen Wings in one of two National Semi-Final third and deciding game's tomorrow (Sunday) night at Fogarty Ice Arena. The Johnstown Tomahawks and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs will also have a similar contest.

The Wings rallied from a 2-0 deficit with the game winning goal coming in overtime to edge the Bulls 3-2. Forward Nick Sicoly scored at the 13:08 mark of the extra session. The Bulls played a strong game, but were unable to get anything else past goaltender Matt Vernon who settled down after giving up the two early goals. Justin Evenson had another solid game in goal for the Bulls, stopping 49 of 52 shots he faced. Many of the quality score chances he stopped took place in the middle period when the Wings peppered the goaltender with 15 shots on goal.

Logan Jenuwine, Brendan Datema scored in the first period for Amarillo to make it 2-0. Jenuwine fired a shot past the far post, while Datema connected on a screen shots three minutes after the first goal. Assists were off the sticks of Brendan Datema,

It was a well played second period by both teams but the Bulls couldn't hold off the hard charging Wings which were battling for their playoff lives. Nick Sicoly scored his first of the game, while Tim Makowski had the other.

The third period was exciting with both teams having chances to score but unable to convert.

It was a back and forth overtime session with Alex Peterson, Gabriel Seger and Brenden West coming close to ending it for the Bulls.

The Wings capitalized on a turnover and able to work it free and Nick Sicoly scored after working his way from defenders inside the offensive zone.

Fans can tune into the action of the third and deciding game between the Bulls and the Aberdeen Wings at 6 pm. Broadcast coverage gets underway with Prelude To the Robertson Cup 30 to 45 minutes after the conclusion of the third game between the Tomahawks and the IceDogs.
