[Staten Island, NY] - The Staten Island Yankees are still winless at home.
The Baby Bombers had nine hits, but could only push across three runs while stranding nine runners in the 7-3 loss to cross town rival Brooklyn.
Brooklyn scored two runs in the top of the fourth, but Staten Island got one run back on a single by Jared Tredway.
The Cyclones broke the game open in the fifth, scoring three runs for the 5-1 lead.
Staten Island and Brooklyn each scored single runs in the seventh and eighth innings. They Yankees had runners on in the ninth, but Hector Zamora grounded into a double play to end the game.
Treadway had two hits in the game and two RBI. Dave Slevin also had two hits in the game.
Brooklyn's Ian Bladergroen was three for five for the game, scoring two runs and driving in two. He had a home run in the game.
The Yankees will finish up this home-at-home series at Brooklyn at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday night.
