
Shuster Tosses Six Innings of One-Run Ball, M-Braves Take Series Finale 6-1 over Biloxi

PEARL, MS - LHP Jared Shuster pitched six innings of one-run ball, and the Mississippi Braves took the series finale 6-1 over the Biloxi Shuckers on Sunday afternoon at Trustmark Park.
Four M-Braves posted multi-hit games in a 12-hit performance.
The M-Braves (18-21) won their second series of the season 4-2 over the Shuckers (18-21). The M-Braves are 2-0-2 in their last four series.
In the second, Jacob Pearson smacked a two-run double that one-hopped the wall in right field to make it 2-0. The outfielder went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Pearson transferred back to Mississippi from Rome on Tuesday and notched five hits and three doubles over the series.
Trey Harris scored Pearson with a line drive to right field to extend the lead to 3-0.
In the sixth, Logan Brown legged out his third career triple on a ball he sent to the right-field corner. Harris knocked him in with a grounder up the middle.
Harris brought in two runs on two hits and upped his RBI total to nine. Brown finished 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, bringing in the M-Braves sixth run of the game on a base hit in the seventh.
Shuster's outing lowered him to a 2.14 ERA, which is second best in the Southern League. The left-hander gave up four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in the start. Atlanta's No. 10 prospect picked up his third win and has 43 strikeouts to 10 walks over 42 innings this season.
Riley Delgado extended his hit streak to nine games with his 10th multi-hit game. Delgado moved up to third in the Southern League with a .337 batting average.
CJ Alexander continued a strong May with two hits, a stolen bases and five assists from third base. Alexander has four homers and 11 RBI in 16 games in May.
Michael Harris II was a late scratch from the lineup in the first game he did not start this season. Atlanta's top prospect came into the game as a pinch hitter in the seventh and stayed in center field for the rest of the game.
The M-Braves will travel to Pensacola for a six-game road series starting on Tuesday before returning home for a six-game homestand against Montgomery starting on Memorial Day, May 30.
