
Shreveport defeats San Angelo, 7-1

The Shreveport Sports won their fifth straight, the longest winning streak of the season, in defeating San Angelo 6-1 at Fair Grounds Field Tuesday night.
The Sports scored four runs in the first inning off losing pitcher Mike Henry as Shreveport had four hits, three doubles, in the inning. Shreveport finished the game with eight hits, six were doubles in going 2-0 to start the second half. Derek Patterson and Jorge Alvarez led the Sports with two hits each.
Shreveport lefthander Keith Black pitched a complete nine inning game, his longest outing of the season and struck out a season high seven in recording his fourth win of the year.
Black's shutout was spoiled in the eighth inning when Sean Bischofberger led off the inning with a double and scored on a two-out double by Joe Gilbert.
Shreveport and San Angelo will meet in the third game of the four game series Wednesday night at Fair Grounds Field. Game time will be 7:05.
