Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans and Texas Brahmas meet tonight in Game 6 of the their first round series, with Texas leading the best of seven series 3-2. Puck drop at NYTEX Sports Centre, in North Richland Hills, is 7:00 PM.
The Americans are led in this series by three-time Central Hockey League All Star Bruce Graham, who has five goals in five games. Americans netminder Marco Cousineau has been spectacular in the last two contests, giving up just three goals total, including a 3-2 overtime win last Friday night. Cousineau has a 1.69 GAA and a .938 SV %.
Americans Captain Jason Deitsch has also come up big in this series scoring three goals, including the game winner against his former team in overtime last Friday night. Deitsch was the Brahmas Captain when they won the Presidents Cup in the 2008-2009 season, along with being named Finals MVP.
Brahmas forward TJ Fox has been Texas' best player in the series scoring four goals, including two game-winning goals. Brahmas' rookie goaltender Mark Guggenburger is 1-2 in the series with a 3.98 GAA.
The Americans faced elimination in both year one and two of the franchise. Allen won a Game 7 against both Laredo and Odessa in 2009 to advance to the Presidents Cup finals. Last season they rallied to beat Odessa in three straight, after dropping the first two games at home.
The Americans won the season series with the Brahmas going 7-2-2, including a 3-1-1 record at the NYTEX Sports Centre. Game 7 is Wednesday night back in Allen with a 7:05 PM puck drop.
