Bloomington Blaze News Release

The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, have formed an affiliation agreement with the Danville Dashers of the Federal Hockey League.

Blaze President and General Manager David Holt and the Dashers' head coach and general manager Matt McIlvane jointly announced the affiliation. "With the teams just a relatively short distance apart, this affiliation will certainly help both clubs on and off the ice. Matt and the Dashers are doing a solid job of building professional hockey in their part of the region, and we're happy to partner with them."

The announcement is expected to help unify professional hockey in Central and Eastern Illinois. The two teams are a mere 80 miles apart and proximity provides a great opportunity both for call-ups for Dashers players and cross-promotional marketing. "The Danville Dashers organization is very excited to affiliate ourselves with a quality organization like the Bloomington Blaze. My goal is always to give players the best opportunity to grow their careers and this affiliation is a big step for the Dashers. I look forward to continue working closely with David Holt and the entire Blaze organization," said McIlvane.

The Blaze continue to prepare for the organization's second season in the Class AA Central Hockey League. Season tickets are now on sale with a variety of plans and sponsorship opportunities available. For more information, call 309-434-2980 or follow the Blaze on Facebook and Twitter (BLMBlaze).
