Kansas City Outlaws News Release

(Kansas City, MO --- December 4 2004) – In a matinee game that was not decided until the fifth round of a shootout, the Kansas City Outlaws improved their home record at Kemper Arena to 5-2 with a victory against the Missouri Otters on Saturday. With back to back wins on consecutive days the Outlaws overall record now stands at 9-13-1 as they continue to fight their way out of last in the division. The next test for the Outlaws will take place at Kemper Arena against the Fort Wayne Komets on Tuesday at 7 pm.

Looking to avenge an 8-0 loss in St. Charles on Sunday, November 28 to the Otters, Kansas City was lead by the superb goaltending of Maxime Gingras who stopped 43 out of 45 shots on goal. Left winger Jimmy Callahan provided all the offense the Outlaws would need scoring two goals today, his forth in two days, as well the game winning shoot out goal in the fifth round.

In seven home games at Kemper Arena, this game provided the most entertainment of them all. Midway though the second period witnessed a major brawl when multiple fights broke out across the ice, instigated mostly by Kansas City enforcer Marc-Andre Roy who was subsequently thrown out of the game and accrued 19 minutes during the mayhem.

Maxime Gringas and Jimmy Callahan were the two stars of the game for the Outlaws. Gringas showed why the Outlaws traded two draft picks at the start of the season to obtain the goalie from Richmond. Gingras stopped 96% of shots on goal, while Callahan continued to light up the net with clutch scoring. The Outlaws now lead the season series 3-2, as every home team has been victorious.

The Outlaws play at home in Kemper Arena on Tuesday at 7 p.m. taking on the Fort Wayne Komets for the fourth game of a nine game home stand. The Outlaws and Komets meet for the third time this season with eight more games scheduled between the two squads.
