Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) The long-awaited 'second season' gets underway in Edmonton on Sunday, November 7th at 2:00 pm (gates open at 12:30 pm) as the Eskimos tangle with the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium in the CFL West Division Semi-Final.
Fans are asked to wear their Green and Gold and do their part to turn Commonwealth Stadium into an Igloo of Pain for the visiting Roughriders. "Our fans are the league's best and nothing gets our team more pumped up than to see and hear 60,000 people going crazy," said Eskimo wide receiver Ed Hervey. "Bring your gold towels, noise makers and your loudest cheers and we'll do our part on the field," he added.
The Eskimos earned home-field advantage with Saskatchewan's last-second loss last week in Vancouver. The Riders have had their difficulties at Commonwealth and have not won on the natural turf since 2000. Last year, the Eskimos defeated the Roughriders in the CFL West Division Final on their way to winning the 2003 Grey Cup.
