Three Things You Need to Know

1.) Dance Invitations Have Been Sent- The eight teams that will participate in the 2014 Ray Miron Presidents' Cup playoffs have been determined with Allen, Arizona, Brampton, Denver, Missouri, Quad City, Rapid City and Tulsa all clinching spots with one week to play in the regular season. The seeds are not finalized as of yet but the teams with home ice advantage in the Opening Round have been determined with Allen, Denver, Missouri and Rapid City earning those spots. How the seedings and match-ups shake out will be determined in the final week.

2.) Mavs Look to Win Governors' Cup- The Missouri Mavericks (43-17-2) head into their final four games of the regular season needing just one point to earn their first ever Bud Poile Governors' Cup (regular season champs). Missouri will host St. Charles on Tuesday and then host Tulsa on Friday/Saturday before finishing the season in Quad City on Sunday. The Mavs are 22-7-1 in their last 30 games and are the only team in the CHL with 20+ wins at home and on the road. This past weekend, they swept the Mallards in a three-game series and on the season finished with an 8-1 record versus the Flock. If the playoffs were to begin today, the Mavs would be facing the Arizona Sundogs in the Opening Round, a team they are 4-0 against this season.

3.) All-CHL and All-Rookie Teams Named- The awards week for the CHL began on Monday with the naming of the All-CHL and All-Rookie teams. First year players Vincent Arseneau and Lee Moffie of Denver, Ty Rimmer of Quad City, Adam Pleskach of Tulsa, Alex Lavoie of Allen and Henrik Odegaard of Missouri were honored and the All-CHL team is made up of Denver's Garett Bembridge and Troy Schwab, Missouri's Matt Stephenson and Shane Owen along with Allen's Tyler Ludwig and Tulsa's Ben Gordon.

By the Numbers

101: The number of points that Denver's Garett Bembridge has heading into the final week of the regular season as he now leads teammate Troy Schwab by seven points in the quest for the Joe Burton Scoring Championship. Bembridge has a league-best 40 goals along with 61 assists and has three goals and 11 assists in his last nine games. Bembridge and the Cutthroats finish the season with a pair of games in Allen (Fri/Sat) and the season finale in Tulsa on Sunday.

One-Timers

-Heading into the final week of the regular season, four teams have made significant improvement over last season's point total and two have a chance to get into the black with a solid finish to the season. The Tulsa Oilers made the most on-ice moves in the off-season and it resulted in a league best 10 more victories than last season (32 to 22). Missouri is second with eight more wins followed by Denver with six more and Rapid City with four more. Both Allen and Arizona can jump into the positive this week with Arizona currently sitting with two fewer wins than last season and Americans with one fewer. Quad City is -5 compared to last season and the biggest fall comes from Wichita who dropped 13 games from last season's 39 wins.

-The scheduled March 2 game between the St. Charles Chill and Missouri Mavericks was rescheduled to Tuesday night (Mar. 24). The Mavs are 6-1 this season against the Chill and need just one point to clinch the Governors' Cup.

-The Allen Americans have won four straight games and are 12-2-1 in their last 15 contests. They will play their final three games on home ice facing Quad City on Wednesday and then Denver on Friday and Saturday.

-The Rapid City Rush and Brampton Beast close out their regular seasons with three straight games in Ontario. The Rush won back-to-back games against the Beast last weekend and have won three straight games overall.

-Arizona forward Shawn Limpright has been efficient in his 12 games since joining the Sundogs scoring nine goals on 36 shots (.250 shooting percentage). The veteran has 13 points (9-4-13) in this 12 games.

-The Missouri Mavericks head into the final week with the league's best power play (22.7%) and the league's best penalty kill (87.6%) and they are tied for the league lead with 11 shorthanded goals.

-The St. Charles Chill will look to finish their inaugural season on a win streak and put an end to their current seven-game slide. The Chill are just 1-18-1 in their last 20 games but have a chance to affect the post-season seeding as they play at Missouri on Tuesday and host Quad City on Friday and Saturday.
