Missouri's Shane Owen Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (March 25, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Missouri Mavericks goaltender Shane Owen has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 23, 2014. Owen has won the weekly honor on four previous occasions winning on back-to-back weeks twice.

The Shanty Bay, Ontario native won back-to-back decisions over the playoff-bound Quad City Mallards stopping 50 of 53 shots (.843 save percentage). He made 25 saves in a 2-1 win in Missouri on Friday and then followed that up with a 25 save performance in a 5-2 win in Moline.
On the season, Owen leads the league with 35 wins (overall is 35-13-1) and his 2.56 goals against average and .918 save percentage are both third in the CHL.
