Shorebirds to Begin Homestand Wednesday

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, will begin a seven-game homestand on Wednesday, May 6 at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

The first three games will feature the first series of the season between the Shorebirds and the Asheville Tourists (Colorado Rockies affiliate) before a four-game set against the Augusta GreenJackets (San Francisco Giants affiliate).

The Shorebirds will enter the block of home games with a 15-9 record, just one game back of the Hickory Crawdads for first place in the SAL Northern Division.

There will be plenty of promotions for fans to enjoy including a blanket giveaway courtesy of Holloway Tours, PRMC Pink Pitch Night, Q105 Fireworks presented by Allen Harim and the first Field of Dreams game of the season presented by the Friends of Wicomico Public Libraries.

Wednesday, May 6 vs. Asheville Tourists, 7:05 p.m.

The Shorebirds will return home on a Coastal Home Care Silver Sluggers night. There's still time to take advantage of this great ticket package that includes tickets to every Wednesday home games for just $14. All fans in attendance will also have the chance to play Baseball Bingo.

Thursday, May 7 vs. Asheville Tourists, 7:05 p.m.

There are plenty of savings to be had on Thirsty Thursday presented by University Village. 16-ounce cans of Coors Light and Miller Lite, as well as 16-ounce Pepsi products, can be had for just $2.

Friday, May 8 vs. Asheville Tourists, 7:05 p.m.

The first 1,000 fans through the gate for Friday's game will receive a 20th anniversary blanket courtesy of Holloway Tours. The Shorebirds will also again don throwback jerseys modeled after the ones worn during the team's first season in 1996. Finally, the game will be a Froggy 99.9 Big Beer Friday, where 32-ounce Miller Lite and Coors Light drafts will be priced at just $6.

Saturday, May 9 vs. Augusta GreenJackets, 7:05 p.m.

The Shorebirds will aid in the fight against cancer by holding PRMC Pink Pitch Night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Saturday. Delmarva will wear special pink jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute. The night will conclude with a Q105 Fireworks Show presented by Allen Harim.

Sunday, May 10 vs. Augusta GreenJackets, 2:05 p.m.

Strike Out Hunger Sunday gives fans a unique opportunity to save money on Shorebirds tickets while also helping needy residents of the Eastern Shore. Those who bring two canned food items to the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium box office can get a general admission ticket for just $3. The donations will then be distributed to local food banks.

All members of the Eastern Shore McDonald's Junior 'Birds Kids Club will want to stick around after the game for their chance to run the bases thanks to Chili's Bar and Grill.

Monday, May 11 vs. Augusta GreenJackets, 7:05 p.m.

Shorebirds fans can get their week started off with great savings on another Two Buck Monday. General admission tickets, Esskay hot dogs and small Pepsi products will all be available for just $2. No coupon is necessary to take advantage of this amazing deal.

Tuesday, May 12 vs. Augusta GreenJackets, 10:35 a.m.

The finale of this homestand will feature the first Field of Dreams game of the season presented by the Friends of Wicomico Public Libraries. The contest will have a special 10:35 a.m. start time, and will provide area students a day of fun that combines education and baseball. Limited space for classes is still available and can be reserved by calling 410-219-3112.

The game will also be a Two for Tuesday, presented by McDonald's of the Eastern Shore. Fans who bring a McDonald's receipt to the box office are eligible for a buy one, get one free offer on general admission tickets. The Shorebirds will also donate $1 for each receipt collected to the Ronald McDonald House.
