38 PERCENT GONE: T.J. Baxter accounted for 38 percent of the Shorebirds stolen bases this season. Baxter leads the system with 24 steals on the season. The Shorebirds have 64 total. Gary Helmick and Brian Conley are tied for second on the team with eight stolen bases each.

BEST PITCHING MONTH: The Shorebirds sport a staff ERA of 3.50 in the month of June. The 'Birds finished April with a 4.19 ERA while they had a 4.16 ERA in the month of May. The June ERA is fourth best in the South Atlantic League.

ABERDEEN UPDATE: The Ironbirds are currently at the bottom of the McNamera Division of the NYPL with a 3-5 mark. Rehabbing second baseman L.J. Hoes is hitting .464 (13-28) with five RBIs. Kipp Schutz leads the club with six RBIs.

MORE K'S THAN BB'S: Both Brian Conley and Ty Kelly have more walks than strikeouts. Conley has 51 walks to 46 strikeouts, while Ty Kelly has 37 walks to 34 strikeouts.

TOP FARM HAND: Nate Moreau leads all Orioles minor league pitchers with 70 strike outs. Zach Britton and Steve Johnson of Bowie rank second with 68 each.

CAREER HIGH: Nate Moreau tied his career high with nine strikeouts last night in six innings. He also struck out nine against Tri-City in the NYPL on August 7, 2008 and twice last year. Moreau fanned nine in 3.2 innings pitched against Asheville on July 29, 2009. The 23-year struck out nine against Hagerstown on August 5, 2009 in seven innings.

ORIOLES MINOR LEAGUE POM?: If Moreland has a solid start tonight against Lakewood, he should garner heavy consideration for the Orioles Minor League Pitcher of the Month award. Only three other pitchers in the system have three wins; Zach Britton and Chorye Spoone of Bowie and Rick Zagone of Frederick. Moreland has the lowest ERA amongst starters in June.
