
Shorebirds blank 'Claws

Delmarva Shorebirds News Release
Lakewood, NJ- Delmarva scored two runs with two outs in the second inning of Lakewood ace Chance Chapman and help on for a 3-0 victory over the BlueClaws Wednesday night at FirstEnergy Park.
Nathan Nery was masterful, going seven shut-out innings for the second time on the road trip picking up his sixth win of the season. He allowed only four hits, struck out three and ended the night with no walks.
Robbie Widlansky led the charge offensively for the âBirds going two for four with a run scored and an RBI. He tripled in a run in the seventh inning and sparked a two out two run rally with a double in the second. Paco Figueroa and Brendan Monaghan drove in a run apiece for Delmarva.
The Shorebirds finish the road portion of the 2008 season with a 36-32 away record. Delmarva finishes the second half 20-14 on the road.
The Shorebirds and Captains will complete the suspended August 9th game at Perdue Stadium starting a 5:05 Thursday day night followed by the regularly scheduled game, which will be seven innings.
