
Shorebirds Add 10 Members of Orioles 2022 Draft Class

SALISBURY, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds, in conjunction with the Baltimore Orioles, are excited to announced the addition of 10 members of the 2022 Orioles First-Year Player Draft class to the Shorebirds roster, including three of the top four picks for the Orioles in OF Dylan Beavers, 3B Max Wagner, and OF Jud Fabian.
The full list of draft class members set to join the Shorebirds is as follows (Round, Overall Pick No.): OF Dylan Beavers (CB-A, No. 33, Cal), 3B Max Wagner (2nd, No. 42, Clemson), Jud Fabian (CB-B, No. 67, Florida), C Silas Ardoin (4th, No. 107, Texas), RHP Cameron Weston (8th, No. 227, Michigan), INF Adam Crampton (9th, No. 257, Stanford), RHP Bradley Brehmer (12th, No. 347, Indiana), LHP Jared Beck (13th, No. 377, Saint Leo), C Adam Retzbach (14th, No. 407, Lehigh), and RHP Reese Sharp (20th, No. 587, Indiana).
Also joining the Shorebirds are RHP Keagan Gillies (2021 15th Rd. selection out of Tulane) and RHP Juan Nunez (acquired as part of package from Minnesota Twins in exchange for RHP Jorge Lopez).
Beavers just wrapped his junior season at the University of California, Berkeley, where he slashed .291/.426/.634 with 17 homers and 50 RBI. Beavers was First-Team All-Pac 12 selection for the second straight year and currently ranks as the No. 9 prospect in the Orioles system per Baseball America.
Wagner was selected by the Orioles following a phenomenal sophomore season at Clemson. Wagner was named the ACC Player of the Year after hitting .369/.496/.852 with 27 homers and 76 RBI. Wagner is currently rated as the No. 21 prospect in the Orioles system per Baseball America.
Fabian hit .239/.414/.598 with 24 homers and 55 driven in for the Florida Gators during his redshirt junior season. Fabian was selected 40th overall in the 2021 draft by the Boston Red Sox but did not sign. Fabian is ranked as the No. 23 prospect in the Orioles system per MLB Pipeline.
Ardoin just completed his redshirt sophomore season at the University of Texas where he slashed .271/.391/.513 with 12 homers and 50 driven in. Ardoin is the son of Danny Ardoin, who played five years in the Majors from 2000 to 2008, including a stint with the Baltimore Orioles.
Weston comes out of the University of Michigan, where he went 5-4 with a 4.74 ERA this past spring as a junior with the Wolverines. In 81.2 innings, he struck out 92 and walked 38 while allowing 92 hits.
Crampton was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year this season while also hitting .316/.395/.392 with one homer and 40 runs driven in for the Stanford Cardinal.
The newest members of the Shorebirds will debut on Tuesday, August 16, on the road against the Salem Red Sox. The Shorebirds return home on August 23 to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium to begin a six-game series against the Lynchburg Hillcats.
