Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that OL Palauni Ma Sun and WR Steven Black have been added to the 2012 roster. In other roster moves, OL Chet Teofilo and WR Chaz Rodriquez have been placed on re-assignment. Spokane also activated DL Pierre Walters and DL Brandon Sharpe from the Physically Unable to Perform List (PUP), and placed WR Delric Ellington on PUP.

Ma Sun, 6-5 320, becomes the ninth player to re-sign with the Shock from the 2011 roster. As a member of the Shock last season, Ma Sun appeared in eleven games and recorded two receptions for 25 yards as a tight end. In 2010, Ma Sun, started in 17 games (regular and post season) for the Chicago Rush and recorded four touchdowns.

"Palauni has proven himself year in and year out in the AFL," General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden said. "He has a rare combination of size, athleticism, and toughness that you just can't replace. I'm happy to have Palauni back in Spokane."

Black (6-3 210), cousin of Terrell Owens, played for the BC Lions in the CFL in 2010 and 2011 where he collected 24 receptions for a total of 387 yards (averaging 16.1 yards/reception) in just 11 games.

"His experience in the NFL (Pittsburgh Steelers) and in the CFL (BC Lions) will help his transition to the Arena game," Rigmaiden said. "He has the body frame and the hands we look for at receiver."

Spokane will open the 2012 season in less than two weeks as they host the Iowa Barnstormers on Monday, March 12th. Several concessions - including hot dogs, sodas and popcorn - have been marked down to just $1 each for the game. Tickets are available now and can be purchased by contacting TicketsWest at 509 242 7462.
