The Owen Sound Attack has named sophomore forward Steven Shipley the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week ending October 13th, 2009.
Shipley played in four games this past week, opening things up at the Bayshore on Wednesday in a tilt with the Plymouth Whalers. Shipley scored his 2nd and 3rd goals of the season and finished the game a +2.
Friday night, Shipley and the Attack played traveled to Kitchener to take on the Rangers. Despite a 6-2 loss, Shipley managed to pick up an assist on a Bobby Mignardi shorthanded marker.
Saturday night, Shipley and the Attack took on the Western Conference leading Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Shipley picked up an assist in a much needed 6-3 win for the Attack.
The 17 year old Ilderton native got back to his scoring ways on Monday afternoon when the Attack hosted the Barrie Colts. Shipley scored the Attack's only 2 goals on the day and the team from the Scenic City skated away with a 2-1 win over the Eastern Conference leading Barrie Colts.
Overall, Shipley scored 4 times while picking up 2 assists.
The Attack is back in action this weekend when they make stops in Niagara and Erie. All games can be heard on Bruce Telecom Bear Radio with Fred Wallace, your voice of the Attack.
