Former Aberdeen Wings Forward and current Air Force Cadet Shawn Knowlton helped the Wings to a 5-2 victory over the Bismarck Bobcats on Friday October, 28th 2016. Shawn would get things started for the Wings at the 7:20 mark of the 1st period with a goal from Fitzgerald and Dimoff on the power play. a few shifts later Knowlton would get his 2nd of the game once again on the power play, this time it would be Carroll and Dimoff assisting. Andy Carroll would add yet another power play goal in the first period to give the Wings a 3-0 lead. Mackie and Dimoff assisted on the Carroll goal. Bismarck would get one later in the period to make the score 3-1 after 1. In the 2nd period the teams would exchange goals, with Carson Dimoff scoring for the Wings from Bossert and Carroll. Tyler Bossert would add one for himself for good measure in the 3rd to give the Wings a 5-2 win. Assisting on the Bossert goal were Dimoff and Fitzgerald. The assist also gave Carson Dimoff a hand in every point scored that night (1G, 4A, +5). Arttu Kulmala was great in goal for the Wings stopping 32 of the 34 shots he faced.
The Wings will renew their rivalry with a home & home vs. the Bobcats this weekend! Friday the Wings will hit the road to Bismarck for a 7:15pm Puck Drop. Saturday they return home.
