Atlético Ottawa returned to TD Place on Wednesday evening for the first of its last two home matches of the 2021 campaign, this one against Valour FC. Cricket's Big Night was an all-around success, seeing the team field an entertaining performance leading to a 2-0 win, and Cricket the dog receiving a large number of adoption applications sure to find him the perfect furever home.

MATCH NOTES

After a slow start, Atlético Ottawa got its engine going, creating a number of chances stemming from the stellar wing play.

Malcolm Shaw scored his 10th of the season (57'). He sits in third in the league standings, four behind golden boot leader João Morelli Netoof Halifax Wanderers.

Zach Verhoven had himself a night, contributing in a number of promising attacks, collecting two assists for his hard work, first on the Shaw goal, and then on the Ryan Telfer goal (64').

GK Dylon Powley was immovable tonight in front of his net, making 6 saves and securing a third clean sheet this season. He still leads the league with 84 saves so far this season.

Atlético Ottawa fans have one more chance to come to cheer their team on this Sunday, October 24 (KO 2PM).

Atlético Ottawa will wrap up its 2021 home season against York United on Sunday, October 24 (KO 2PM ET).

The Canadian Premier League announced earlier this week tentative dates for the 2021 Playoff matches and Final. With Forge FC advancing to the CONCACAF League Quarterfinals and the dates confirmed for Forge FC and Pacific FC's Canadian Championship Semi-final matchups an update to the 2021 season schedule presented by WestJet has been adjusted and allows the League to release the dates for the 2021 Playoffs and Final.
