Sharks to Open Training Camp on Saturday

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Monday that the team will begin its 2015 training camp this weekend, three weeks before the team's March 28 season opener at New Orleans.

Following two days of meetings and physicals, the Sharks will hit the field for the team's initial practice of the 2015 season on Saturday, March 7, at 8:30 a.m. The team will practice in full pads for the first time on Monday, March 9.

The first week of training camp practices will be open exclusively to 2015 Sharks Season Ticket Holders. The midway point of training camp will coincide with a Season Ticket Holder ticket pickup event, held on Saturday, March 14. At this event, Season Ticket Holders will be able to watch practice, meet the team and pick up their season ticket package. More information about this event will be released in the coming days.

Training camp will continue through Saturday, March 21, at which point the Sharks will submit their initial 24-man roster for the 2015 season. After an off day, the team will then return to the field on Monday, March 23 to begin preparation for their Week 1 contest against the New Orleans VooDoo.

Beginning on March 8, training camp practices are scheduled to be held at William F. Sheffield Regional Park, located at 3659 New Berlin Rd. in Jacksonville. Training camp practices will typically take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The second week of training camp practices (March 16-21) will be open to the public.

Sharks players and coaches will be made available to members of the media following the conclusion of each practice. As a courtesy, media members who plan to attend practice are asked to notify the Sharks in advance by contacting Director of Media Relations Zander Kean at zander@jaxsharks.com.

March 5: Team meetings

March 6: Physicals, team meetings

March 7: Practice, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Orange Park Athletic Association (1086 Fromhart St. in Orange Park)

March 8-13: Practice, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., William F. Sheffield Regional Park

March 14: Practice, Season Ticket Holder Pickup Event (time TBA), 28-man roster due

March 15: Off day

March 16-20: Practice, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., William F. Sheffield Regional Park

March 21: Practice, 24-man roster due

March 22: Off day

March 23-26: Practice (closed to public)

March 27: Travel Day

March 28: Jacksonville Sharks at New Orleans VooDoo, 8:00 p.m.
