LA KISS Makes History with First Female to Tryout for Team

(Santa Ana, CA) 3/2/15 - The Los Angeles KISS arena football team held their third open tryout in 2015 this past Saturday at the teams new practice facility, John Ward Field at Sana Ana College.

With the season just a few weeks away, the team is looking for that hidden gem to help them win the AFL (Arena Football League) Championship in 2015. Last year LA KISS starters AJ Cruz and Sam Campbell were recruited at an open practice.

Tryout consist of the 40 yard dash, broad jump, 20 yard shuttle, L drill, positional drills, and 1 on 1 drills. This tryout made LA KISS history with the participation of Lyssa Allen a women athlete who competed with 75 other participates for a spot on the team's roster. Allen is the first women to participate in a LA KISS tryout.

Three participants were invited to training camp and will continue the process of become a LA KISS player. These players could get a contract at the end of camp on March 20th. Unfortunately

Lyssa Allen did not get an invite to camp.

"We are excited about the new season and our players cannot wait to get on the field after last season's outcome. Sometimes these players that are participating in tryout are over looked at times, and they need a shot to be able to show what they got as football players".

LA KISS Training Camp opens up this Friday, March 6th with the official team roster. A FREE Scrimmage Preseason game is scheduled for Thursday, March 19th at Honda Center against the San Jose Sabercats. The 2015 LA KISS regular season will open on the road on March 27th in Portland, and the LA KISS home opener on April 11th Vs the new expansion team Las Vegas Outlaws at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
