Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - Saturday's game between the Jacksonville Sharks and Spokane Shock will air in front of a national television audience, as the Arena Football League and ESPN have utilized their ability to "flex" the league's broadcast schedule. Kickoff from Sea Best Field at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is set for 3:00 p.m., as the game will air live on ESPNEWS.

"We're extremely excited to have another opportunity to showcase what our great fanbase is all about," Sharks Managing Partner Jeff Bouchy said. "This national broadcast will generate great exposure for our corporate partners and the City of Jacksonville, and we're proud to kick off what will be a great day for sports here in our local community."

The kickoff time of Saturday's game was moved to 3:00 in order to accommodate both the national television broadcast, as well as the United States Men's National Soccer Team's "Send-Off Series" match against Nigeria, to be played at EverBank Field at 6:00. Due to the two-and-a-half hour broadcast window that is utilized for AFL on ESPN broadcasts, Saturday's Sharks game is expected to be over at approximately 5:30 p.m., giving fans who wish to attend both games plenty of time to head over to the stadium.

The Sharks are offering several ticket specials for this game. As part of Education Appreciation Night, elementary school students may receive a free ticket to this game with the purchase of at least one adult ticket. In addition, all school teachers, administrators and employees are eligible to purchase Buy One, Get One Free tickets to this gime. Finally, USA Soccer fans are eligible to receive $5 off tickets to Saturday's Sharks game. To take advantage of these offers, fans may call the Sharks Ticket Offiice at 904-621-0700 or visit jaxsharkstickets.com.

ESPNEWS is carried in over 75,000,000 homes nationwide. The AFL and ESPN are in the first year of a landmark partnership, which includes the airing of ArenaBowl XXVII on ESPN, several national broadcasts on ESPN2 and ESPNEWS, as well as nearly every League game available online via ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app for mobile devices.

Saturday's game begins a string of three consecutive Sharks home games that will be broadcast on national television. The team's June 28 game against the Pittsburgh Power will air on CBS Sports Network, with the Sharks' July 14 showdown against the New Orleans VooDoo set to be shown on ESPN2. In all, the Sharks are now scheduled for five national television broadcasts during the 2014 regular season.
