JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of Defensive Back Michael Knight for the 2020 season. Knight signs for his fourth season of arena football and first with the Sharks.

Knight (5'10, 190) last signed with the Arena Football League's Baltimore Brigade for 2019. Prior to that season, he played in four games for the Brigade in 2017 before finishing the year with the Washington Valor where he helped Washington to ArenaBowl XXXI where they defeated his former team the Brigade 69-55. Knight finished the season with 27 tackles, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one interception. Knight spent the 2017 season with the Washington Valor, during their inaugural season as a franchise. As a rookie Knight was a top defensive back for the Valor totaling 53 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and four interceptions.

During his college career, Knight played for the Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Worthington, Minnesota. From 2012 to 2013, he was named All-Division Team Cornerback, Kick Returner, and Punt Returner. Knight is a native of Mobile, AL where he played both football and basketball at Theodore High School.
