JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced today the signing of defensive back Nick Addison for his fifth season of arena football and first with the Jacksonville Sharks.

Addison (6'2, 185) announced he will be returning to arena football in 2022. He spent the 2019 season with the Washington Valor in the Arena Football League (AFL). He spent three seasons with them as a starting defensive back (2016-2018) where he compiled 61 tackles, 11 pass break ups, two interceptions and one interception for a touchdown. During the 2017 season he helped the Valor to the Arena bowl where they defeated the Baltimore Brigade 69-55 to win Arena Bowl XXXI. Addison began his arena football career with the Tampa Bay Storm where he played for two seasons (2015-2016) during his time with the Storm he totaled 74 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and one forced fumble with Tampa Bay.

Nick Addison spent his college career nearby in Daytona Beach, FL where he played for Division I FCS Bethune Cookman University. During his career with the Wildcats he played in 17 games recording 75 tackles, 11 pass breakups, four interceptions, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick. He was named a First Team All-MEAC in 2012 during his sophomore season, he also earned four defensive player of the week awards in 2012.

Addison is a native of Tampa, FL where he played high school football at Spoto High School. He was a All-State honorable mention in 2009 & 2010. Despite his college & pro career as a dominant defensive back he played quarterback in high school. He competed in the Hillsborough County FACA All-Star Games and held the record at Spoto High School for most passing yards in a single season (2,410) and most passing touchdowns in a single season (24).
